White Kyoto is lovely!

This morning, we awoke to a white Kyoto, yup it snowed! Asian settings can have such varied seasons. I quite like it for a change, although the adjustment isn’t always easy especially at first, when the temperatures first stop to drop. It’s easier if you are expecting it, prepared and already accustomed, I guess but in my case I was none of the above. Even, France’s harsh winter was easily forgotten after a nice long summer in France, LA and Japan! Gosh, it was sooo humid here in Kyoto. It is almost time to go home!
On Thursday, I turned the Marathon forms into the Post Office. I actually asked for directions in Japanese! That night, David and I went to Luminarie in Kobe. Again, we joined the crowd of Japanese tourist in walking through the streets watching the lit structures. We checked out the Eddie Bauer store and the Mont-bell store. They have some nice winter items. I bought a hat and bought Dave one, too. When we left the shop they’d turn off the lights. At least we got some lovely pictures first. On the way back we stopped at the festival-like food stands. Dave bought a baked potato and I got a sweet one. The journey home was OK because we got the fast train. Pub Quiz & Christmas Party at my work!
I made it to the Pub Quiz this last Saturday at Zac Baran and really had a nice time. Actually being part of it makes it a lot more interesting and clearly, more engaging. The fact is that our team, "the Fushi Federation", a last minute collaboration, was actually leading for the first two rounds! Unbelievable! It was so cool and surprising!
